Grammie to the rescue!

So what do you do when childcare falls through due to illness or something along those lines? First, you call the three people who have helped out in the past. No luck? Call Mom.
Grammie to the rescue! A major benefit to her working contingent is a bit more flexibility in her work schedule. And what a blessing that she was able to call off from the hospital to fill in for us!
What are so lucky to to only live minutes from Grammie and Papa, but that we have a great relationship with them (as we do with Grandma and Grandpa, too!) and that they LOVE to spend time with Claire B. She is a truly fortunate little girl!

Two or Teen?

Somehow, turning two created a monster in our home. Our little dear has suddenly become bipolar, or a hormonal teenager, or...something! Intentional disobedience, testing the boundaries, professional procrastination; she's suddenly amazingly good at it all.
Now this doesn't mean that she doesn't still have her darling moments, such as saying that the birds are singing "Jesus Loves Me." Or calling her peas "little fella." Or sitting quietly in her end room reading a book until I wake up in the morning.
Praise God for balance.
Even if the sale tips toward one side at times.

The land of make-believe

The Kostun family has come out of blog-hiding and re-entered the blogosphere! After a 6 month hiatus, we are back and ready to share our daily adventures.
To bring you up to date...
We trick-or-treated as a bumblebee...or at least C did. Mommy and Daddy remember what they did. It's been too long!
Thanksgiving was at our house, as Mommy's parents were emptied out and about to embark on a kitchen remodel (it's gorgeous!).
Christmas was a blast in 2012! C totally got into the spirit and "Jingle Bells" was frequently sung (and continues to be!).
As 2012 came to a close, we had learned that C is going to be a big cousin two times within about three weeks in July! Both of her uncles and their wives are expecting! How exciting!
Winter passed...or at least we think its done...though it did snow last week!
We spent a week in Florida with Grandma and Grandpa plus our first family trip with just US to Walt Disney World for a couple of days! C was a trooper and loved it! She still talks about the rides she went on!
Last week was her big 2nd birthday! Grandma came up from Florida and stayed with us for a week. We had a family dinner on Wednesday night and C's girlfriends came over on Saturday for pizza, cake, and a lot of fun playing outside!
We are so blessed and are immeasurably grateful for our health, our family, our friends, and our lives!

C's favorite things right now:
1. "Noah is my buddy. And Beckham. And Lalee. And Josie. And Ella. And Esther. And..."
2. "I have something very very special for you!"
3. Every color of the rainbow.
4. Monkeys. Giraffes. And baby giraffes.
5. Anything Mickey Mouse or related paraphernalia.
6. Stickers.
7. Sparkly and/or light-up shoes.
8. Blankie. (I think we have ditched paci!)
9. "I wanna watcha movie."
